The Texas Pain Foundation presents six awards annually. Presented at the Annual Scientific Meeting, the awards recognize those in pain management. 


 


Samuel J. Hassenbusch Lectureship Award

This annual award was created to honor the memory of Dr. Sam Hassenbusch. It is presented to an individual based on their research and academic achievements, professional contributions to pain management, and other criteria.

Heavner Basic Science Lectureship

This annual award was created to honor the memory and efforts of Dr. James Heavner. It is presented to an individual based on their research and academic achievements, professional contributions to pain management, and other criteria.

Pain Management Scholarships

The Pain Management Scholarships are annual scholarships that are open to Texas fellows and residents with an interest in pain medicine. There are a limited number of scholarships that are available.

Racz-Raj Pain Medicine Presentation Abstracts

The Samuel J. Hassenbusch, MD, PhD Continued Learning Case Study award is presented each year to the top five reviewed cases. Winners are invited to the annual meeting to present cases live in front of members.

Schade Hill Public Policy Pain Champion Award

This award is inspired by Drs. C.M. Schade and Stratton Hill to recognize the outstanding work of an individual or group of individuals who have helped make positive changes in the world of pain medicine.

                                Mark White Academic Excellence Award in Pain Medicine 

This annual award, in honor of Mark White, DO, recognizes a single Texas Pain Society member for an exemplary publication that significantly advances the field of pain medicine.
