Fax & Email Broadcasts:

  • Regarding Texas legislation, reimbursement, and regulatory issues affecting pain management

Continuing Education:

  • Active members receive a subscription to Pain Practice (a quarterly journal dealing with the multidisciplinary aspects of pain), bi-annual Newsletter, annual Membership Directory and notices of upcoming meetings

  • 2 Pain Symposia are offered annually, one with the Texas Medical Association each Spring, and one with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center each Summer

  • TPS Website which includes a listing of officers and members, recent newsletters, upcoming meetings, basic information on chronic and acute pain, and links to national pain-related organizations

TPS Members working on your behalf to:

  • Gain proper coverage and better information on Texas and national Medicare issues affecting pain medicine

  • Advise legislators in Austin about Texas pain management legislation that will affect your practice

  • Reconcile third-party reimbursement, coding and managed care issues

  • Advise Texas governmental and private payors and work with Texas Workers’ Compensation Commission to solve specific pain medicine coding and reimbursement problems identified by TPS members
