The Texas Medical Board is offering one-hour CME-eligible virtual presentations to inform and educate physician licensees about the regulation of the practice of medicine through physician licensure and enforcement.

Educational Objectives
The presentation will cover the following key issues related to a physician’s professional responsibilities and the practice of medicine in Texas:
• TMB Enforcement Process
• Statues and Rules on Pain Management
• The Prescription Monitoring Program
• PMC Inspections

Presenter
Amy Swanholm, J.D., MSEL, is an Assistant General Counsel for the Texas Medical Board (TMB) and has been a practicing attorney in the area of administrative and regulatory law for over a decade. She also holds a masters degree in public policy. Prior to joining the office of general counsel she spent several years as a senior attorney in the Board’s litigation division.

Accreditation and Designation Statements
This Continuing Medical Education (CME) presentation is recognized by the Texas Medical Board (TMB) for licensed physicians to meet up to one required formal hour of study in medical ethics and/or professional responsibility. This presentation is also recognized by the Texas Physician Assistant Board for physician assistants to meet up to one informal hour of CME.
Use of this presentation to satisfy any other continuing education requirements is not guaranteed by the TMB and is at the sole discretion of the entity requiring the continuing education.

This CME is one hour of formal hours of study in medical ethics and/or professional responsibility to be applied toward TMB registration requirements.

CME is not issued to those joining the presentation past 15 minutes from the start of the presentation nor anyone leaving early.
