The Texas Pain Society offers a variety of memberships for those in Texas' pain management industry.

ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP - $300 per year

  • Active members are physicians who reside within the State of Texas, are licensed by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners, and are actively engaged in the practice of pain management. Active members have full voting rights and are eligible to hold office until retirement. If one qualifies for active membership then that physician will not be considered for any other membership category.

ASSOCIATE 1 MEMBERSHIP - $175 per year

  • Associate 1 members are physicians who reside outside the State of Texas. Associate 1 members accord all the privileges of the society, but they do not have voting privileges and are not eligible to hold office in the society. 

ASSOCIATE 2 MEMBERSHIP - $100 per year

  • Associate 2 members are non-physician pain practitioners and member-sponsored associates in Texas, i.e., nurses, physician assistants, and other allied health personnel. Associate 2 members accord all the privileges of the society, but they do not have voting privileges and are not eligible to hold office in the society. 

TRAINEE MEMBERSHIP - $50 per year

  • Trainee members are individuals currently in a recognized training program related to pain management, including those executing fellowships. Trainees may stay in this membership category one additional year after the completion of their training program as they transition into practice. 

MILITARY - $150 per year

  • Military members are full-time active duty physicians who reside within the State of Texas, are licensed by the Texas Medical Board, and are actively engaged in the practice of pain management. Military members have full voting rights and are eligible to hold office until retirement. If one qualifies for military membership then that physician will not be considered for any other membership category.

BUSINESS - $500 per year

  • Business members are individuals affiliated with businesses (pharmaceutical, medical device, goods or services, etc.) that are interested in pain management. Business members accord all of the privileges of the society, including attendance to all general membership and scientific meetings. They are not eligible to vote or to hold office in the society.

DUES

Dues to the society are not tax-deductible as a charitable contribution but may be deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense. A portion of dues, however, is not tax-deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense, to the extent that the society engages in lobbying. The non-deductible portion of your 2023 dues is 25%.
